I really wish you had talked to some of the many prominent linguists who work on AAVE, many of whom are Black, in putting this together. some of what you write about what AAVE “is” or “isn’t,” and its relationship to other languages including English, is not all that consistent with the scholarship. The question of whether it is possible using corpus methods to distinguish AAVE from other forms of English is not one I’m aware those scholars would give the same answers you do.

i’m not sure it shows respect to the very subject you are talking about to build a tool at a major research university without engaging with the significant research on the topic, much of which is by people from the population you are speaking about.
